Start With the Right Measurement Method
If you already own a ring that fits the correct finger, measuring its inside diameter is usually convenient. If you do not have a ring, measure the finger's circumference with a flat, non-stretch strip. Pick one method and follow it carefully instead of mixing outside diameter, inner diameter and finger width.
For direct finger measuring, the strip should sit snugly without digging into the skin. For an existing ring, measure across the widest part of the inner opening from inner edge to inner edge.
