If a ring, receipt or jewellery listing shows a US size, select US / Canada in the converter. A US size is not the same number as an Indian size. For example, a US size around 7 is close to Indian size 14 in this chart, while a US size around 8.5 is close to Indian size 18.
US sizes commonly include half and quarter increments. This is one reason a direct “add X” formula is unreliable across the full range. A better method is to match each US label to the ring's approximate circumference or diameter, then select the nearest Indian size.
The UK system uses letters and half letters, which can look confusing when an Indian jeweller asks for a number. In this converter, common examples include UK N ≈ Indian 12, UK P ≈ Indian 14, UK T ≈ Indian 18 and UK X ≈ Indian 22. If your UK size falls between listed points, use the nearest physical measurement or ask the jeweller whether half sizes are available.
Australia often uses UK-style ring labels, but store charts can differ. When importing a ring or buying from a marketplace, always check the seller's own chart as well.
Many European ring-size charts use a number that is close to the inner circumference in millimetres. That makes EU-style sizes particularly useful as a bridge between systems. For example, an EU size near 54 corresponds to a circumference near 54 mm and is approximately Indian size 14 on this chart.
Do not assume every European retailer follows exactly the same convention. France, Germany, Italy and individual brands may label sizes differently, so the safest cross-border reference remains the ring's physical measurement.
Measure straight across the inside of a well-fitting ring from inner edge to inner edge. Do not include the metal band.
Measure the distance around the inside of the ring or around the finger. This is often the easiest common reference across international charts.

For a simple fashion ring, an approximate international conversion may be enough if the store has an easy exchange policy. For an engagement ring, wedding band, diamond ring, gold ring or platinum ring, use the converter only as the first step. Confirm the exact finger circumference or test a jeweller's sizing ring before finalising the order.
Ring width and inner profile also matter. A broad wedding band can feel tighter than a thin solitaire band. Comfort-fit bands may feel different from flat inner profiles. If you plan to stack two or three rings on the same finger, the combined width can alter how snug the set feels.

Warm weather can make fingers swell, so a ring may feel tighter later in the day or during hot Indian summers.
Cold fingers can shrink slightly, making a loose ring feel even looser and increasing the risk of slipping off.
